The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, V.E. Schwab
Dhruv: 3/10
- Didn't really enjoy the book
- Hole-y plot, boring characters, surprising lack of development given 300 years of age
- Lots of opportunity given the scenario (discussed during meeting) but book didn't live up to it
Elton: 4/10
- Whole lot of stuff written about a whole lot of nothing
- Nothing-burger life
Tony: 4/10
- Strong start, intriguing premise, interesting take on immortality
- Luc is hot, look you have to admit. I want to fuck the demon
- I hate Henry and it goes downhill from his introduction
- Epilogue of the book ruins any emotional gravitas of the ending
Jason: 3/10
- Tries to put forth a lot of ideas, none of these ideas are new and they did an awful job getting them across
- Truly terrible ending
- Fun bits of story buried in there (I did not hate Henry) but there is so much filler junk that feels pointless by the end
